Course Overview
Our Secondary English programme supports students preparing for O-Level English and Cambridge IGCSE English.
The curriculum is designed to enhance reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, while equipping students with exam strategies and critical thinking abilities.
We focus on clear expression, strong comprehension, effective essay writing, and confident communication, aligned with both MOE and Cambridge standards.
Learning Modules
1. Advanced Grammar & Vocabulary Development
- Consolidation of core grammar: tenses, connectors, clauses, and sentence structures.
- Vocabulary expansion through newspaper articles, literature, and real-world topics.
- Application of academic phrases, idioms, and expressions in essays and oral tasks.
- Weekly vocabulary tests and writing tasks to reinforce usage.
2. Comprehension & Critical Reading
- Practice with O-Level and IGCSE-style comprehension passages.
- Techniques for identifying main ideas, tone, authorβs intent, and inference.
- Exposure to a variety of texts: fiction, non-fiction, news articles, and persuasive writing.
- Skills development: summary writing, contextual vocabulary, and critical evaluation.
3. Essay Writing & Functional Tasks
- Types of essays: narrative, descriptive, expository, argumentative, and reflective.
- Functional writing: formal letters, reports, articles, reviews, and emails.
- Step-by-step approach: planning, structuring paragraphs, and building logical flow.
- Emphasis on clarity, coherence, creativity, and strong language control.
- Teacher feedback and peer review sessions for continuous improvement.
4. Oral Communication & Literature Appreciation
- Training for O-Level oral exams: picture discussion, conversation, and response strategies.
- Practice for IGCSE oral assessments: individual presentations and group discussions.
- Focus on pronunciation, fluency, tone, and confidence.

Fee & Termination Policy
- One monthβs tuition fees to be paid upfront upon enrolment.
- Fees can be topped up monthly thereafter.
- No long-term commitment β students may discontinue anytime.
- Parents must notify the centre at least 1 week in advance to terminate.
