Course Overview

Our Secondary Tamil programme is tailored for students preparing for O-Level Tamil, IGCSE Tamil, and higher secondary assessments.
The curriculum builds upon foundational skills and develops advanced proficiency in grammar, comprehension, essay writing, literature appreciation, and oral communication.
We place strong emphasis on exam strategies, critical thinking, and confidence in both written and spoken Tamil, aligned with MOE and Cambridge standards.

Learning Modules
1. Advanced Grammar & Vocabulary Development

• Reinforcement of key grammar rules: sentence structures, tenses, connectors, and idiomatic usage.
• Expansion of academic and literary vocabulary.
• Practice through thematic essays, news articles, and contemporary texts.
• Regular vocabulary quizzes and word-building exercises.

2. Comprehension & Critical Reading

• Exposure to MOE O-Level & Cambridge IGCSE style passages.
• Training in identifying main ideas, inference, tone, and author’s intent.
• Critical analysis of literary texts (poems, short stories, cultural articles).
• Step-by-step strategies to answer higher-order comprehension questions.

3. Essay Writing & Situational Tasks

• Narrative, descriptive, argumentative, and reflective essays with model frameworks.
• Situational writing: reports, formal/informal letters, email, dialogue writing.
• Techniques for brainstorming, paragraphing, and building logical flow.
• Emphasis on originality, depth of thought, and language precision.
• Teacher-led workshops with feedback and peer review.

4. Oral Communication & Literature Appreciation

• Practice for O-Level oral examinations: picture discussion & conversation components.
• Training in fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary enrichment, and confidence.
• Literature appreciation: understanding themes, characters, and cultural context.
• Class debates, presentations, and role-plays to enhance spoken skills.

5. Exam Preparation with Past-Year Papers

• Extensive practice using O-Level and IGCSE past-year papers.
• Time-managed mock tests under exam-like conditions.
• Detailed feedback on errors and strategies for improvement.
• Step-by-step marking guide analysis to align with examiner expectations.
• Regular progress reports shared with parents.

Schedule (Every Saturday)

🕙 10:00 – 11:30 AM – Primary (MOE Tamil)
🕦 11:30 – 1:00 PM – Secondary (O-Level / IGCSE Tamil)
🍴 1:00 – 2:00 PM – Lunch Break
🕑 2:00 – 3:30 PM – Junior College (A-Level / IB Tamil)
🕞 3:30 – 5:00 PM – Additional Practice / Revision

Fee & Termination Policy

• One month’s tuition fees to be paid upfront upon enrolment.
• Monthly top-up system for subsequent fees.
• No long-term commitment – parents may discontinue anytime.
• To terminate, notify the centre at least 1 week in advance.
